- Mon, 23 Oct
- Tue, 24 Oct
- Wed, 25 Oct
- Thu, 26 Oct (finals only)
Format
- Swiss pairing
- 64 player limit
- 6 rounds
- Assuming less than 64 players register, in round one only players ranked 16 to 48 plays. Therefore 16 plays 48, 17 plays 47, etc. It gives opportunity to players positioned 16 to 48 to be part of top 32 or bottom 32
- In round two only players ranked 1 to 32 plays
- The initial ranking (refer to Mittal ladder) will be done by the tournament coordinator. The decision is final. The format of the tournament is such that any player can win the tournament and unhappiness with the ranking can be resolved “on the court”. And players will not play twice against the same opponent.
- If a player withdraws the position will become vacant and the next opponent has a bye. For the last round vacant positions will be “removed” by moving everyone below the vacant position one position up.
- The green dot ball will be the official championship ball. Players rated 1 to 32, playing against one another must use a green dot ball. If payers rated 33 to 64 agree, then a game may be played with a double yellow ball.
- The tournament will be run according to the rules of Squash SA and the WSF.
- Games must start within 10 minutes of scheduled time. Player not in attendance or available will forfeit the fixture. Players are allowed, by mutual consent, to reschedule games but the game MUST take place before the results submission cut-off time.
- No markers will be provided. If any player wants a marker, player will be responsible for arranging marker. Players playing on the court in the previous game should make themselves available to be the marker.
- All matches will be played using the PAR scoring system to 11 for players rated 1 to 32 (playing against one another) and 15 for players rated 33 to 64 (playing against one another). If a player in the “top” 32 plays against a player in the “bottom” 32, e.g. 15 against 48, scoring will go to 15. A game must be won by 2 points after reaching 10-10 or 14-14. Matches will be the best of 5 games.
- RESULTS: Must be completed on match scorecards provided on the Information Board on conclusion of the match, on the match evening. No late submissions will be accommodated. In the case no result is submitted, it will be assumed that the higher placed player (e.g., 32 in scenario where 32 played against 48) won.
Mittal ladder
- The latter will be used to rank players for the tournament.
- Players who enter the tournament but is not on the ladder will be allocated a position but starting only from position 8.
